Abstract
Protocol for daily stimulation using StimPods
UroMOCA and StimPod Daily Testing

  • Tolerance testing
  • Attach BluMOCA receiver/antenna to harness/jacket
  • Stimulation permutations
  • 20 Hz, 500 Hz, 10 kHz
  • Stim0, Stim1
  • Stimulation duration: 1-5 seconds ON, >30 s rest
  • For each stimulation permutation, determine upper limit of stimulus intensity/amplitude without distress or discomfort to animal

  • Recruitment Curve
  • Attach BluMOCA receiver/antenna to harness/jacket
  • Administer stimulation while recording bladder pressure and EMG
  • Stimulus duration: 5 seconds on, > 30 s rest
  • Stimulus amplitude range: [0:25 µA:tolerance limit]
  • Stimulus amplitudes randomized within range
  • For each stimulation permutation
  • Within tolerance range for that permutation

  • Stimulate both channels simultaneously
  • Attach BluMOCA receiver/antenna to harness/jacket
  • Stimulus duration: 1 minute for 20Hz; 2 minutes for 500Hz & 10kHz
  • Amplitude for 20 Hz stimulation: 90% of full recruitment
  • Amplitude for 500 Hz or 10 kHz stimulation: minimum amplitude (threshold) to achieve maximum EMG reduction
  • Measure bladder pressure and EMG
  • Document potential effect on subject’s desire to use litter box
