Abstract
Protocol for daily stimulation using StimPods
UroMOCA and StimPod Daily Testing
- Tolerance testing
- Attach BluMOCA receiver/antenna to harness/jacket
- Stimulation permutations
- 20 Hz, 500 Hz, 10 kHz
- Stim0, Stim1
- Stimulation duration: 1-5 seconds ON, >30 s rest
- For each stimulation permutation, determine upper limit of stimulus intensity/amplitude without distress or discomfort to animal
- Recruitment Curve
- Attach BluMOCA receiver/antenna to harness/jacket
- Administer stimulation while recording bladder pressure and EMG
- Stimulus duration: 5 seconds on, > 30 s rest
- Stimulus amplitude range: [0:25 µA:tolerance limit]
- Stimulus amplitudes randomized within range
- For each stimulation permutation
- Within tolerance range for that permutation
- Stimulate both channels simultaneously
- Attach BluMOCA receiver/antenna to harness/jacket
- Stimulus duration: 1 minute for 20Hz; 2 minutes for 500Hz & 10kHz
- Amplitude for 20 Hz stimulation: 90% of full recruitment
- Amplitude for 500 Hz or 10 kHz stimulation: minimum amplitude (threshold) to achieve maximum EMG reduction
- Measure bladder pressure and EMG
- Document potential effect on subject’s desire to use litter box
