Abstract
The protocol describes preparation of samples to be used in PIV measurements performed in OOC devices. Keep in mind that the substances and variables may change significantly depending on the optical system and OOC device used.
Prepare Amount1 mL Sampleflow substance

Take Amount50 µL of tracer particle solution (example: 1 μm Nile Red; must be chosen for the laser used in PIV and the optical system) and add to Sampleflow substance

Shake for Duration00:00:05 in a lab tube shaker

5s
Place for Duration00:30:00 in an ultrasonic bath

30m
The sample is now prepared for PIV measurements. It cannot be reliably expected to retain colloidal stability for more than Duration01:00:00
