Abstract
Used to assess nigrostriatal sensorimotor function in mice. Based on the Deacon 2006 protocol.
Materials
Cotton nestlets
Place 2.5 g nestlet into feeder of each cage.
Individually house mice must then pull the cotton nestlet from the feeder by rearing and useing complext fine motor skills.
Scores based on the amount of unused nestlet material were determined 16 hours after the nestlet was placed. Further details on scoring can be seen in Deacon 2006.
