In Abstract, Materials, Step 1
Prepare 1% Eosin Y stock
Prepare 1% Eosin Y stock
Weigh Amount2 g of ReagentEosin Y powderFisher ScientificCatalog #E511-25 and add it to a 1000mL flask

Note
It must be Eosin Y disodium salt or it will not dissolve in water.

Add Amount40 mL of ddwater and swirl to mix

add Amount160 mL of 95% ethanol and swirl to mix

add Amount1 mL of Glacial Acetic acid

Use 80% ethanol to dilute stock to the desired concentration of eosin.
Note
Working solution should be at Ph3.5
Use drops of Glacial acetic acid to acidify
